Obituary for June A. Johnson (Glover)

Mrs. June A. Johnson, age 78 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Friday, June 19, 2015 at the University Hospital in Columbia, surrounded by her family.

June was born June 1, 1937 in Jefferson City, the daughter of Clarence J. and Ruth E. Baker Glover. She was married on May 3, 1968 in Jefferson City to Everett Johnson.

A lifelong resident of the Jefferson City area, June attended Jefferson City High School.

She was employed with the International Shoe Factory for twelve years and later with Chesebrough-Ponds for twenty-one years prior to her retirement.

June enjoyed camping and going to the casinos. Most importantly, she loved spending time with family.

Survivors include: her husband of forty-seven years, Everett Johnson; three daughters, Pam Otto and her friend, Earl Fisher Jr. of Jefferson City, Mo., Connie Bunting and her husband Charles of St. Martins, Mo., and Linda Mertens and her friend Kevin Flower of Meta, Mo.; one son, Mark Johnson and his wife Julia of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Clarence “Skip” Glover and his wife Roberta of Jefferson City, Mo.; two sisters, Judy Whittle and her husband Larry of Lincoln City, Oregon and Betty Rollings of Kansas City, Kansas; nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Ronald Freeman; and sisters, Jackie Jungmeyer and Kathy Glover.

Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 am Tuesday, June 23, 2015.

Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11:30 am Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Assn. or the American Heart Assn.
