Mrs. Marilyn Kay Walker, 70, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021.

Marilyn was born on November 19, 1950 to Faye (Starr) Turpin. She attended Jefferson City schools and was a 1968 graduate. She married Charles E. Frossard, eventually they divorced, but still remained friends. On March 30, 2001, Marilyn married Robert “Dan” Walker, who preceded her in death on February 13, 2014.

Marilyn worked in Internal Medicine with JCMG for several years. She was a past member of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls and the Little Theatre.

Marilyn had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her own two, four-legged children, Scruffy and Snickers. She kept her mind sharp by reading, doing puzzles, crocheting and researching genealogy. Marilyn liked watching sports, especially NASCAR Racing and the Kansas City Chiefs. In her younger days, Marilyn traveled often. Her favorite place to go was North Carolina. Most recently, she loved going to the Lake of the Ozarks, where she enjoyed cruising on the boat with Dan. Most of all, Marilyn cherished the memories and time that she spent with her family, especially her grandkids.

Survivors include: two children, Leslie DeWesplore (Mike) of Wardsville, and Andrew Frossard (Jennifer) of Goldsboro, NC; eight grandchildren, Aaron Campbell, Kayleigh Campbell, Jordan Fisher (Josh) all of Jefferson City, Benjamin Campbell of Chicago, IL, Cooper DeWesplore of Jefferson City, Savannah Frossard, Sienna Frossard, and Lincoln Frossard all of Goldsboro, NC; two great-grandchildren, Noah Campbell and Boston Fisher; and her fur baby, Scruffy.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother, Faye Turpin; her sister, Wanda Pardue; her uncle, Marvin Starr “Unkie”; and fur baby, Snickers.

Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 12:00 pm Saturday, June 5, 2021 with a celebration of life following at 12:00 pm in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Lowell Perkins officiating. Graveside services will be at Riverview Cemetery.

My heartfelt condolences to all who love Marilyn. We went to high school together, and I was pleased to be able to reconnect a bit via our class Facebook page. Thank you for making it possible for friends like me, who live far away, to share in the service with you. And Ben, your tribute to your Nana was so lovely. I know her grandchildren were her joy. You will carry her forward in the world by living in ways that express the love you shared with her.

Hello my name is Bob Frasher.I'm so sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing,Marilyn is my 1st cousin ( aunt Vera Turpin Frasher is my mother). I had the privilege of going to High School with Marilyn and our lockers was next to each other, and she was a very nice young lady.

Tina Traweek Posted at 01:19pm

Hello, my name is Tina, and Marilyn and I met while working at JCPenney together in 2011. She quickly became "My Sister" as she called me I missed Dan's funeral, as my son was in the hospital with cancer as well. We used to make monthly outings, the girls from our JCP crew, just for an evening of dinner and drinks, until Dan and my son both passed away. We had one final lunch date, just the 2 of us, days after she bought her "fancy little electric car" she said she was never gonna figure out how to operate it! Her health kept us from getting together anylomger, along with COVID, but we spoke often. Our last conversation was the day she was leaving the hospital, and being transferred to Villaarie nursing home, she was to let me know when I could come see her again. I hadn't been able to reach her since then. I learned a bit ago of her passing from her Facebook. My heart goes out to each of her family members, especially to you, Aaron. Your Grandmother always spoke about you and loved you so very much.
